Together\, we’ll honor not only our personal journeys but also the Club’s legacy of bringing Fort Lauderdale its very first library. \nWe invite you to come prepared to share a brief story about your book that moved you most. Our guest speaker is the Author of RADICAL SISTERS: SHIRLEY TEMPLE BLACK\, ROSE KUSHNER\, EVELYN LAUDER AND THE DAWN OF THE BREAST CANCER MOVEMENT.\n\n“In this powerful history\, biographer Pearson spotlights three women who spearheaded the breast cancer awareness movement. … it’s an inspiring account of the women who changed how breast cancer is understood and treated.” \n– Publisher’s Weekly\n\n And our own Hibiscus Kitchen will be making the gourmet protein packed luncheon for us. Bring a guest!\n  \n \n  \n\n\n\n\n\nFall Drives are in Full Swing!\nFOR THIS OCT 16th MEETING:\nGently Used Children’s Halloween Costumes\n \nOur own Officer Antjie Jackson is requesting gently used children’s Halloween Costumes for an event at the Children’s Diagnostic Center. Please bring them to this month’s October 16th meeting\, they will be much appreciated by these kids!\n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \nChoose a Child’s Name for the Diaper Bank Adopt-A-Child Toy Drive \n \nAt this October meeting we will be selecting children’s names for our club to provide 3 gifts per child this Christmas\, chosen from active clients of the Fort Lauderdale Diaper Bank.  Our goal is 10 children this year\, last year we were able to help 7 children very last minute. This time we are preparing in advance to help more! These are kids and families Adora West (new member and Director of the Bank) knows personally as clients of the Diaper Bank who need help giving their children a Christmas this year. Spread the giving spirit of Christmas to our community by sponsoring a whole child with 3 gifts or sharing a child with another 2 members\, each of you getting 1 gift. This is one of our favorite drives of the year that makes a wonderful impact on LOCAL Fort Lauderdale families in our community.\n\nFood Pantry Collections\nThe Fort Lauderdale Women’s Club is proud to support the Fort Lauderdale Food Pantry with ongoing collections of non-perishable food items. Donations may be dropped off at the Club or at Core954 in Fort Lauderdale. Gift cards and monetary donations are also welcome to help families purchase fresh and essential items. Every contribution makes a difference in nourishing our community!\nOctober Bra Collection\n \nThis October\, the Fort Lauderdale Women’s Club is restarting our collecting of new and gently used bras to support women in transition. All sizes are welcome and appreciated. Donations can be brought to the Club or to Core954 in Fort Lauderdale. Together\, we can restore dignity and comfort for women in need. Thank you for helping us uplift women in our community!
