DESCRIPTION:Hosted by the HomeLife Committee\, Presented by the Fort Lauderdale Police Dept \nWe are so pleased to bring back our “Thanksgiving Day” themed potluck luncheon! The club will provide the following:\nTurkey\, gravy\, desserts and beverages. \nMembers..please bring the following: \nA-M – Appetizers/Salads   \nSuggestions: stuffed celery\,cranberry sauce\,green salads\,vegetable salads\,waldorf salad. \nN-Z – Vegetables \nSuggestions:dressing/stuffing\,mashed potatoes\, candied sweet potatoes\,corn casserole\,green beans\,roasted beets\,mac and cheese\, brussels sprouts. \nThese are only suggestions\, so if you have a favorite family recipe please feel free to share it with our members! Volunteers are always welcome and appreciated to help with set-up and clean-up. Help us make our “Potluck Luncheon” a success: \n1.  If possible\, please bring all food items between 11:00 and 11:20 so we can open the food line at 11:30. Thirty minutes to eat and socialize and then we will start the meeting promptly at noon. \n2. PLEASE make sure your food items are TABLE READY\, as we will have some serving utensils available but there will be no time to cook or assemble prior to luncheon. \nIt’s time to begin our Annual Holiday Collection Drives! \n(Please contact the Chair with your questions or make an alternative arrangement to drop off items if you cannot attend club meetings) \nWe will be collecting food items for our yearly collaboration with our community partner “Pantry of Broward”. DESCRIPTION:This historic event on Thursday\, May 19\, 2022 is the last before our club’s summer break. The Fort Lauderdale Woman’s Club in conjunction with the William G. Pomeroy Foundation and the National Collaboration of Women’s Historic Sites invite you to a Dedication Ceremony for the National Votes for Women Trail honoring Ivy Stranahan. She is considered the Mother of the City of Fort Lauderdale\, former club President 1913-1916\, and a strong suffragist! She and her husband Frank donated the land where our clubhouse is located. Come and hear the little-known and well-known historical facts about both our club and Ivy Stranahan from the Fort Lauderdale Historical Society and the League of Women Voters. Join us for a champagne reception at 5:30 p.m. The dedication will begin at 6:15 p.m. Attendance is free for this historical dedication. RSVP is politely requested.

DESCRIPTION:Thursday April 21  11:30 – 1:00  \nConservation Fun with Guest Speaker Sierra Ciciarelli of the Broward Cty Sea Turtle Conservation Program \nchaired by Jami Zurita\nLuncheon cost $20 \nCome to learn fun and simple ways to conserve our precious Earth and enjoy a fun DIY planting project to take home! Bring an empty jar (no lid) if you have one. Luncheon is $20.  \nSierra Ciciarelli is the Outreach Manager and Asst Field Manager of the Broward County Sea Turtle Conservation Program. Sierra has always had an affinity towards sea turtles since she was a little girl but made her dream a reality during her undergraduate studies. While obtaining her Bachelor of Science she spent the summer in Maunabo\, Puerto Rico working as a sea turtle nesting biologist. She was lucky enough to work with leatherback and hawksbill sea turtles during their nesting season. After this she went on to obtain her Master of Professional Science in Marine Conservation at the University of Miami’s Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science. During her thesis work she worked as a Sea Turtle Specialist.
