DogFest Walk ‘n Roll™ is coming to South Florida and you are invited to join the GFWC DISTRICT 13 TEAM and be a part of this exciting national signature event benefiting CANINE COMPANIONS FOR INDEPENDENCE ® (CCI). Read more on how you can help us raise money for this wonderful cause!
This event is a unique family and dog-friendly, completely accessible walk and festival that celebrates community, camaraderie and compassion. It has already been hugely successful in 25 cities across the country and a large crowd is expected to participate in the one here in Markham Park on Saturday, February 20, 2016.
Founded in 1975, CCI is the largest nonprofit provider of highly-trained assistance dogs to children, adults and veterans with disabilities. It is recognized worldwide for the excellence of its dogs and longevity of the matches it makes between dogs and people. The result is a life full of increased independence and loving companionship. The qualified CCI graduate is awarded with a dog at no charge which is valued at $50,000. This is the cost to provide and ensure a quality partnership as well as ongoing care for the life of the dog.
The General Federation of Women’s Clubs of Broward County (GFWC District 13) is supporting the inaugural DogFest Fort Lauderdale and their efforts to raise $40,000.
