“DIAPERS & DEPENDS DRIVE” was a GREAT SUCCESS!

The FLWC “Diapers & Depends Drive”  was our spring community project. A HUGE THANK YOU to all of you who donated packages of diapers, depends, pads, and wipes and even cash for this much needed community service!

From March through May we collected…

  •  3,799 Baby Diapers!

  •  3 packs Pull ups!

  • 219 Adult Diapers!

  • 90 Incont. Pads!

  • 2 packs Sanitary Pads!

  • 18 packages Wipes!

  • and $310 in cash!

WOW!!  Great job everyone!

This was and is a critical and much needed service the Fort Lauderdale Diaper Bank provides to families… not just with small children but pregnant mothers and caregivers of elderly or ailing family members. Along with monthly distributions to the public, they also partner with other organizations locally to distribute during special events.

Adora West, the Vice President of the organization, told the story of how they started collecting diapers when, as new moms themselves meeting other moms at the parks, they realized a lot of families couldn’t afford diapers, and would rely on each other to share what they had. Now along with baby diapers they also collect adult diapers and wipes. They also collect sanitary supplies and deliver them to local schools for the girls, and have other exciting projects planned for the future for the girls and women of our county.

We will be doing future projects with the Diaper Bank this year! If you still want to drop off diapers, supplies or want to donate, please see their website at  https://www.ftldiaperbank.org/  for all events and distribution dates. Feel free to donate to them at any time via the button at top!
