“The Women Behind Everglades National Park”

Member Meeting and Luncheon

Before there was Everglades National Park, there was Royal Palm State Park.  This park was owned and maintained by the Florida Federation of Women’s Clubs from 1916 until 1947 when Everglades National Park was dedicated. Come celebrate Women’s History Month with us and learn about the club women involved in saving a part of the Everglades from development. Our speaker will be Dr. Monica Elliott, current president of the League of Women Voters of Broward County and FLWC member.
