Come experience the works of the “The Last Great American Art Movement of the 20th Century” at the Fort Lauderdale Woman’s Club on April 12. Meet the self-taught and self-promoted African-American landscape artists and hear first-hand their stories of how they painted and made a living peddling their works along the eastern coastal roads of A1A and US 1 in the mid-1950s through 1980s.

Art Show & Sale from Noon to 4:00 pm.  A $5.00 donation at the door would be appreciated.  In addition to viewing and purchasing artwork, you can see a live demonstration, bring in your Highwaymen painting and have it appraised for free or purchase a raffle ticket to win one for your collection!

Proceeds from this event benefit the Fort Lauderdale Woman’s Club (FLWC), the oldest civic organization in Broward County and guardian of one of the last remaining historic buildings in downtown Fort Lauderdale.  Serving the community through volunteerism since 1911, the FLWC is located at the corner of Broward Blvd and Andrews Avenue in Stranahan Park.
