This annual show gives our members a wonderful opportunity to show-case their creative and artistic talents. There are several entry categories.  If you would like to submit an entry, please notify Arts Community Service Program Chair, Mindy Noble, at [email protected] or 954-237-7344 no later than Monday, February 15.

This competition is for members and amateur artists only. Participants must not have earned over $1,000 in sales or teaching of their own personal arts.  The pieces submitted must have been created in the past year (2015). Submissions should be one item per category, per person.

Judging of entries will be by Janice Hamilton, professional actress and founder of Hamilton Fine Art & Auction, Inc. an art auction company based in Fort Lauderdale. All blue ribbon winners must be willing to enter their piece to the next level(s) of competition i.e. district and state. Bring item(s) to clubhouse morning of the show by 9:30 am to ensure display is ready for judging at 11:00 am.

ART: For our purposes, art is defined as painting/drawing, collage, mixed media, photograph, and sculpture.

CRAFTS:  This is where your imagination can flourish.  The categories are broad and varied.  They range from ceramics and pottery to knitting and crochet to jewelry and metalwork and everything in between.   If you are “crafty” and would love to have fellow FLWC and GFWC members enjoy your work, please enter it!

GENERAL GUIDELINES FOR ART ENTRIES:

Paintings:  the size requirements are maximum  33″ and minimum 12″ in length or width including the frame.  All works must be framed and wired for hanging.

Miniatures:  are to be no larger than 4″ x 6″ and may or may not be framed.  You may bring a small easel/stand for miniatures (make certain to mark with your information so it is returned along with miniature).

Photographs:  photos must be an 8″ x 10″ ORIGINAL print and matted.  Matting must be at least 10″ x 12″  but no larger than 14″ x 16″, with no frames or glass.  Matting may be in any color the photographer believes will best highlight their photo.  There are four (4) categories: Portrait (head or head & shoulders of person); Natural History (flowers, animals, insects, birds, trees, etc.); Scenic (vistas, landscapes, seascapes, bridges, etc); Feature (human interest picture including people). Enhanced photos are allowed in all four categories, however 4 x 6 copy of original photo MUST be attached with entry.

Sculptures: size limits are 36″ high x 24″ wide, and must be fully assembled, intact and able to be lifted by one person. Required info should attached to bottom of piece.
