International medical charity Operation Smile was chosen as the GFWC Florida President’s Project for the 2018-2020 administration. Every three minutes, a child is born with a cleft lip or cleft palate and many are unable to access the safe, effective surgical care they need due to shortage of surgeons, medical infrastructure and affordability. A child’s cleft lip or cleft palate can be repaired for as little as $240 and in as few as 45 minutes.

Our goal at the FLWC October Club Meeting to raise enough money to pay for TWO surgeries. You will have the opportunity to win raffle prizes, buy beautiful centerpieces or place as little or most $ as you can in a passed basket. Your participation will help bring much-needed surgeries and renewed hope to children and families around the world.

See below for items to donate for annual charity drives.  If you miss the October 18 meeting you can bring in November.  We thank you so much for your support!!

The holidays can be a difficult time for mariners who are working far away from family and friends, and missing the experience of opening packages and sharing holiday joy with their loved ones. Annually, hundreds of volunteers from the community support Seafarers House by collecting, packaging, wrapping and delivering gifts to approximately 1,500 mariners aboard as many as 80 different cargo and tanker ships docked at Port Everglades during the holidays.

The Pantry of Broward – Thanksgiving dry food items or grocery gift cards. Contact Home Life Chair, Donna Richardson at 954-762-9444 or [email protected].

The Pantry of Broward is a 501(c)3 organization registered with the State of Florida. The Pantry was founded in 2008 by Elizabeth “B.J. Buntrock,” a local philanthropist who saw the need for a charitable organization that could address the unique needs of seniors and grandparents raising their grandchildren on fixed incomes.
